{UPDATE}

Check our official site for the newest bitcoin miner, the most updated tutorial and amazing support! :-)

{Import Note}

  • Please DON'T overclock the Antminer S4. Please DON'T change anyting in the "Miner Configuration --> Advanced Settings".

{Official Manual}

{Before Start}

  • Connect the miner to the router by internet cord.
  • The default IP of the miner is “192.168.1.xx”, so, plz make sure the IP your router is "192.168.1.xx" too(eg. 192.168.1.1).
  • For miner configuration, plz use the ethernet cord to connect the miner to the same router which your PC also connected. (Your PC is just needed for miner configuration)
  • We pack the products very carefully, but cords inside the miner might fall out during the delivery, so, if the miner cannot start normally, please open the case and check if all the cords inside the miner are properly connected.
  • If you have several miners, please make sure put them far away from each other.

{MINING GUIDE}

  • Connect the miner to the router by internet cord.
  • Power on the miner. Press the switch button (as the following picture showing) on the miner for a few seconds until the fan and the LED light run.

  • Wait for about 1~3 minutes, until the blue LED on the miner is showing some ip details. (some miners take shorter time, some miners will take longer time..)

  • Let's find out the Default IP address of the miner. There is a specific ip address for every miner. From the LED, you will get the ip adress of your miner. As the following picture showing, the ip of this miner is "192.168.1.13". (NOTE: here also showing the speed of the miner.)

  • Open configuration page: Open IE --> input the default IP in the address bar. (eg. the default ip of the miner is “192.168.1.13”, then input “192.168.1.13”. plz make sure the IP of your router is “192.168.1.xx” too.).
  • If IE can’t open the address you inputed, plz just try a few more times. (sometimes, the miner need about 10~30s to connect itself to the router)
  • If the you get a pop-up when you open the configuration page ask for accredit, plz just input "root" both for the user name and the password.

  • Then you will get in the configuration page of the miner.

  • Plz set your mining details in the "Miner Configuration" page, and then click "Save & Apply" to saving the changes.
  • We don't recommend you to change any setting in the "Advanced Settings" in the Miner Configuration page.
  • And in the "Miner Status" page, you can get the mining details (speed etc.). (NOTE: the speed showing here may not be so stable, especially for the GH/s(5s). Plz don't worry, it's normal, please refer to the speed shown on the LED screen. If you do mind about this, please upgrade the firmware of the miner to the newest one. For how to upgrade the firmware, plz refer to the section {Upgrade Firmware} below.)

  • And, mining will start automatically after the miner power on.
  • If the speed are not about 2TH/s, please just restart the miner. (That's happened just occasionally)
  • That's all you need to run the miner. Happy mining.

{Upgrade Firmware}

If your miner works very well, you can skip this section.

  • First, please check the version of the mining system.

  • Download the newest firmware here (IMPORTANT: Please pay attention to the date of the firmware you will download, it is should be more up-to-date than the version you got in the 1st step above. Please don't try to upgrade the firmware to an older version): https://bitmaintech.com/support.htm?pid=00720140930114518599JXGHWWD80660
  • The firmware you download is a ".tar.gz" file.
  • Open the upgrade page: "System" --> "Upgrade"

  • Click the button "A" to select the ".tar.gz" file you just downloaded, then please click button "B" to upgrade the firmware.
  • Then, wait for about 1~5 minutes while the system upgrading.
  • Then, you may get an error message page like below, plz don't worry.

  • Wait for about 1~3 minutes, then reopen the configuration page (take the picuture above as an example, plz input the ip "192.168.1.14" in the address bar).
  • Then you can do anyting else for configuration.
  • You can also have a look at the official manual for more details about firmware upgrading. (The page 6, section "5.1 System Upgrading"), check here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-_jcpU1s5dgbHdpbkVLcjVNWGs/view?usp=sharing
  • After you upgraded the firmware, please check the version of your firmware.

That's all for firmware upgrade.

{Fireware Upgrade -- Use image}

if you miner workes well , please refer to the section {Fireware Upgrade} above to upgrade your fireware.

Let's start upgrade the firmware:

  • Insert the SD card reader (with SD card) to the USB port of your computer.
  • And then upgrade the SD card to the firmware you have downloaded:

  • After you upgrade the system, plz insert the miniSD card to the box again and do all the configuration again.

{Other Reference}

1. Mining never start, there is noting showing on the LED screen, and i can't open the configuration page(192.168.1.xx).

  • Sometimes the miner takes longer to begin to work. We have met this issue before, some miner needs about 7-10 minutes to begin working. After power on, wait for 7~10 minutes, until the noise of the fan diminishes, then wait about 1-3 minutes, and the IP will show on the LED screen, the miner will work.
  • Check your home network setting, is it normal?
  • Check the mining pool address you setted in the "Miner Configuration", can your home network connect to the pool ?
  • Set the protocol to DHCP via Navigate to Network -> Interfaces -> WAN -> Edit. (PS. the command list may be changed, plz just find the option "protocol" in the "Network" tab and set it as "DHCP")
  • Check all the cables inside the box: are they connected tightly ? Make sure they are inserted tightly.
  • Plz check the SD card inside the box which is holding the mining system, is it insert tightly ?
    • Open the case of the miner.
    • And you will find a little black board inside the miner.
    • There is a micro sd card on the black board, plz insert it tightly.
Here is the picture showing the sd card:

  • After you setted the pool address etc, and click "Save&Apply", while you wait the setting applied, plz don't click anyting.
  • Upgrade the firmware (if you can still login the configuration page). (some old version of the mining system maybe get this "no data" problem, plz upgrade the firmware to the newest ones)

2. "x" showing on the ASIC Status

For the ASIC status wise, "x" doesn't necessary means the chip is faulty or failing.  If the hashing power seems to be affected, please check your PSU and wiring and reboot and check the status a few times.  It should go back to an average 2000 ± 10% GH/s per AntMiner S4.

3. when you are getting "x" on the ASIC chip status, please:

  • Power off the miner, wait for some minutes, then power on it again.
  • Plz pay attention to the heat dissipation of the miner. Because the the chip of the miner maybe stop mining if the temperature is too high.
    • If you several miners, please make sure put them far away from each other.
    • Open the box(and keep it opening) to make the blade inside the miner to get cooler.
    • Get more fan or other dissipation methods to make the miner more cooler.

    • Turn off the antminer and double check your PSU cables are connected well and restart.
    • Check the status in about 5 minutes and every 30 minutes for a few hours and see if the "x" are showing up constantly at the same chip or randomly changes or completely disappear.
    We have encountered such issue when testing, there are some "x" showing on the ASIC chip status, like the following picture showing:

    Then, we restarted the miner, and the "x" disappeared.
